28" (71 cm.) Bisque socket head, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes with dot highlights, mauve-blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with primly-set outlined lips, impressed dimples at lip corners, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over Steiner pate, Steiner composition fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent, tiniest pinflake on bottom left eye rim, near mint original body. Marks: Sie C 6. Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1882. Value Points: the gentle expression on the plump-faced bebe is enhanced by most delicate painting of complexion and features, beautiful eyes, original body and body finish, lovely antique costume.
