13" (33 cm.) x 10" box. The wooden box with lithographed paper cover has colorful engraving on the lid, and hinges open to reveal a well-fitted interior with rose paper lining and mirrored back. Inside is a porcelain toilette service with blue edging on white ground, painted pink roses, and gilt edging, comprising wash bowl and pitcher, three covered boxes and jars, bowl, and a variety of accessories including cologne bottle, powder puff, paper-wrapped soap and more. Excellent condition. French, circa 1880.
