Description
18" (46 cm.) Paper mache shoulder head with oval face and elongated throat, sculpted hair in elaborate coiffure with arranged curls at each side, high coiled bun at the crown, painted blue eyes in defined and outlined sockets, painted brows, aquiline nose, closed mouth, slender kid body, painted flat green shoes, wooden hands. Condition: good, original finish albeit craquelure. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: rare early doll with elaborate coiffure, original body, and with fine original gown.
