Bisque socket head, very deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose-blushed eye shadow, brushstroked brows with decorative glaze, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth, defined space between the richly-shaded lips, impressed lip corners, dimples at philtrum and chin, separately modeled pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body with plump limbs and straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 16 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1885, the distinctive landmark model was commissioned from the noted French sculptor Carrier-Belleuse by Emile Jumeau. Value Points: rare largest size of the Bebe Triste, with superbly modeled features, finest bisque and painting, original body and body finish, very beautiful antique lace dress, undergarments, bonnet.
