Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Heubach (square) 8457 Germany. Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa 1910, the doll is said to portray Princess Angeline (1811-1896), the eldest daughter and last living descendant of the great Suquamish Chief Seattle whose poignant story has been related in several books; the doll is a precisely accurate rendition of actual photographs taken during her final years. The portrait doll is a most unusual subject for the Heubach firm, ranking among their finest models. Value Points: outstanding sculpting on the very rare model enhanced by finest bisque and painting.
