Description
22" (56 cm.) l. x 23"h. x 16"d. The five-sided open-front dollhouse room with distinctive original wall and ceiling decorations, including the design of the crown at the room exterior, the unusual color combinations of mauve, grey, red, gold and green on the walls, and the designs of birds along with fantasy plant leaves on the ceiling are all indicative of the decorative elements inspired by Koloman Moser, one of the main members of the Vienna Secession Movement of the Art Nouveau era. Notable among the furnishings are the beaded carpet, the bust of Emperor Franz Joseph, the feather Christmas tree decoration with "traganth", the Erhard & Sohne gilt silver coffee service, and the very rare Art Nouveau table lamp with shade and "Japanese" design vase with flowers. Occupying the room are three dollhouse dolls including moustached General in uniform. Excellent condition. Austria, Art Nouveau era, c. 1890, inspired by the designs of Koloman Moser.
