13" (33 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead of slender-faced woman with slightly-turned head, brown sculpted hair with curls framing her face and a coiled bun at the back, small enamel eyes with heavy eyelids, slight smile, row of tiny teeth, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and slender shapely legs, painted blue stockings, black shoes with red buckles, wearing original costume with excellent detail, coiffe, and carrying metal basket. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, an especially beautiful example.
