Description
29"l. x 26" (excluding flags). A three-sided rectangular cotton circus tent has vivid lithographed scenes of excited spectators, and is surmounted by a peaked top with Humpty Dumpty lettering on the front and two flags. Inside the tent are reduced size performers including Lady Acrobat, Ringmaster, Clown and Lion Tamer, and a bounty of reduced size painted eye animals including two striped tigers, spotted tiger, carved mane lion, rhinoceros, acrobat horse with platform, double hump camel, bear, brown striped zebra, pig, and donkey. As well, there is a wheeled animal cage labeled Humpty Dumpty Circus. Included is the original box for the tent. Very good to excellent condition. American, Schoenhut, late 1920s.
