12" (30 cm.) Porcelain shoulderhead, black sculpted hair in very short cropped fashion highlighted by feathering around the forehead edge, sculpted ears, painted pale blue eyes in side-glancing manner, black and red upper eyeliner, single stroke brows, closed mouth with primly set lips, muslin stitch-jointed body, leather arms. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1870. Value Points: unusual expression achieved by eye painting, the young lad wears antique costume comprising bead-trimmed velvet costume with silk breeches.
