23" (58 cm.) Paper mache shoulder head with slender oval face, elongated throat and modeled bosom, black sculpted hair in centerpart with elongated looped curls above each ear, and a tautly-pulled small braided chignon at the back of head, black enamel eyes, painted lashes, shaded brows accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, firmly-stuffed muslin stitch-jointed body, leather arms with hand-stitched fingers, antique costume, undergarments, leather slippers, bonnet. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: outstanding early doll whose rarity factors include enamel eyes, modeled bosom, and superb coiffure.
