Description
15" (38 cm.) A bisque head doll with cobalt blue eyes, painted lashes and brows, closed mouth, accented lips, blonde mohair wig, carton torso, wire upper arms, wooden hands and lower legs, is posed seated on a woven-seat two wheel cart which is being pulled along by a paper mache pony with flocked finish. A mechanism is hidden below the seat, and when wound, the cart propels along while he waves the riding crop held in his hand. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1875. Value Points: delightful early toy, enhanced by the fine quality of bisque doll and original costume.
