12 1/2" (32 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with sculpted bosom and shoulderblades, blue glass paperweight inset eyes with spiral-threading, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with heart-shaped upper lip, tongue tip, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid bebe body with kid-over-wooden upper arms, bisque forearms and hands, Chevrot hinged hips, wooden lower legs. Condition: generally excellent, tip of right middle finger chipped, very sturdy body. Marks: Bru Jne 2 (head) No 2 Bru Jne (shoulders) Bebe Bru Bte SGDG...(paper label on chest). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1884. Value Points: very beautiful face enhanced by splendid eyes and desirable "tongue tip" modeling, fine antique costume (may be original) and bonnet, undergarments, stockings, and rare black leather ankle boots with four silver button closure marked "Bru Jne Paris " in oval and "2".
