28" (71 cm.) Bisque socket head with very full lower cheeks lending a wistful expression, deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, lushly-painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented eye corners, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, separately modeled pierced ears, brunette hand-tied human hair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists and plump limbs, vintage burgundy silk dress and bonnet, undergarments, and leather shoes signed "Bebe Jumeau Depose". Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 13 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1884, his portrait bebe commissioned from Parisian sculptor, Carrier-Belleuse. Value Points: especially fine modeling and bisque, splendid eyes, fine original body and body finish, with blue ribbon award from UFDC 2000.
