23" (58 cm.) Bisque socket head, very elongated lower face having very full throat and pronounced shape of nose, small blue glass sleep eyes, mohair lashes, painted lower lashes, slightly modeled brows with feathered details, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with slightly downcast outlined lips, impressed chin dimple, unpierced ears, brunette human hair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique costume comprising black taffeta jacket, woven bonnet, silk costume, undergarments, and kidskin shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1900, mystery maker, possibly Simon and Halbig. Value Points: extremely rare model of which other models are not known to exist, having highly characterized artistic sculpting with most distinctive features, finest quality of bisque and painting.
