15" (38 cm.) Bisque socket head with plumply-modeled cheeks, blue glass inset eyes with spiral-threaded eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, arched brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with pale outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over original plaster pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with flat-cut derriere. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Bte SGDG 1 (head) Sch (in shield on derriere). Comments: Schmitt et Fils, circa 1880. Value Points: especially beautiful bebe with choicest bisque and painting, original signed body with original finish, fine antique dress, bonnet, undergarments, cream kidskin shoes with silk rosettes incised "Paris Depose" and with incised image of castle.
