Description
22" (56 cm.) seated and 27" standing. Each has light paper mache head on wooden dowel which attaches to light paper mache torso, each with painted complexion and facial features, narrow painted eyes set in deeply-defined sockets, closed mouth, painted hair, wire articulation at elbows allowing posing of hands. Condition: very good, original finish with some fading of painted finish on head and hands, some costume fading. Comments: Asian, early 1900s. Value Points: the pair, she posed seated on bench, are wearing their original costumes with embroidery and paillettes, she with tiny bound feet.
