Description
12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass spiral threaded eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, open mouth, two porcelain upper teeth, brunette mohair wig, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Sonneberg, circa 1892. Value Points: the boy wears original velvet and silk costume in the 15th century courtier manner, depicting Christopher Columbus with 1492 gilt lettered on his hat, and celebrating the 400th anniversary of the discovery of America.
