17" (43 cm.) Thick hand-pressed porcelain with tan flesh-tinted complexion, solid dome with sew holes for brunette human hair wig, slender facial modeling, elongated throat, sloping shoulders with slightly modeled bosom and shoulderblades, five sew holes, painted bright blue eyes with red and black upper eyeliner, black single stroke brows, closed mouth with richly shaded lips, blushed cheeks, muslin stitch-jointed body, porcelain arms to above the elbows. Condition: fine professional restoration to shoulderplate. Comments: circa 1850, attributed to Lippert and Haas of Schlaggenwald. Value Points: rare wigged model with strong presence, wearing very fine early gown, undergarments, slippers, and fancy bonnet. With blue ribbon award from Doll Collectors of America.
