23" (58 cm.) Bisque socket head with sharply angular facial features, pronounced long pointing nose and pointy chin, high cheekbones and incised wrinkles at outer eye corners, high angled brows with sculpting detail, furrowed brows, brown glass sleep eyes, painted lower lashes, closed mouth with grimace smile, outlined lips, row of painted teeth, brunette human hair, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: attributed to Simon and Halbig from their 1300 series, circa 1900, for the French market. Value Points: extremely rare model with outstanding sculpting and bisque, wonderful antique Polichinelle costume with signature humps and bicorn hat may be original and is superbly appropriate for the bisque model.
