Solid domed paper mache shoulderhead, black painted pate, pale complexion, painted blue down-glancing eyes with darker blue outer iris rims, black upper eyeliner, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, brunette hand-tied human hair wig, firmly-stuffed pink kid poupee body with shapely torso, tiny waist, and limbs, mitten hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: for the French market, circa 1840. Value Points: beautifully-painted features on the early doll, original body, wig, and wearing fine antique costume comprising transfer-patterned gown, silk embroidered fichu, burgundy apron, felt shoes, early burgundy woven bonnet with ruffled lace, brooch with early sepia image.
