22" (56 cm.) Solid domed bisque head with flat-cut neck socket, rounded face, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners shaded nostrils, open mouth with shaded lips, two rows of tiny teeth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, carton torso with clockwork mechanism, composition arms, kid-over-metal hinged hips, composition lower legs. Condition: bisque and body excellent, mechanism intact albeit needs adjustment, Marks: Benon Bte Guiton Succ...(original paper label on torso). Comments: Jules Steiner, an early model of his "Bebe Gigoteur", as presented by the luxury Parisian boutique Aux Enfants Sage, circa 1875. Value Points: especially beautiful doll with choicest bisque, complexion and painting, original wig, body, and multi-layered costume, and with original boutique label.
