Description
17" (43 cm.) Bisque socket head with elongated facial shape, painted brown eyes in well-defined eye sockets, heavily-modeled upper eyelids, dark upper eyeliner, short single-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and accented lips, brunette mohair bobbed wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, suede lederhosen, shirt, knit vest, leggings, leather saddle shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1910, although unmarked the model is indubitably their 150 model from the firm's rare art character series. Value Points: wonderfully expressive character whose solemn expression is accentuated by modeling around the eyes, original wig, body, body finish, and including a photograph of the doll with its original child owner.
