Description
6" (15 cm.) Solid domed bisque swivel head on kid torso, brilliant blue glass eyes, dark upper eyeliner, painted lashes and feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, blonde mohair braided wig, peg-jointing at shoulders and hips, bare feet. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Simon and Halbig for the French market, circa 1885. Value Points: especially beautiful face whose delicate pale bisque contrasts the brilliant blue eyes, wearing original costume including matching bonnet, and with armload of flowers and an outstanding original hip-length braided wig with original bows. In his book, Fascinating Dolls, Samy Odin described the doll as having a "radiant face...with precisely delineated features".
