Description
16" (41 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderhead and upper arms, very plump face with centered features, small blue glass enamel eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, feathered brows, shaded nostrils, open mouth with slightly-parted lips, two rows of tiny porcelain teeth, dimpled chin, blonde mohair wig, cloth upper arms and legs, cloth-over-carton midriff, bisque hips and thighs, bisque lower legs with bare feet, bisque arms to above the elbows, separately-sculpted fingers. Condition: right arm and right leg are poorly restored (two fingers missing), otherwise excellent. Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1875. Value Points: rare early model with distinctive body, has remarkably fine quality of painted features on the delicate pale bisque.
