18" (46 cm.) Bisque head with flanged neck,sculpted brown hair with forelock curls,plump cheeks,brown glass sleep eyes,painted curly lashes,tinted brows,accented nostrils of tiny nose,closed mouth with downcast pouting lips,muslin torso with composition lower legs and arms. Condition: generally excellent,composition limbs very worn. Marks: 1394 38 Germany. Comments: the sweet toddler was designed by the American artist Joseph Kallus,trademarked as "Baby Bo-Kaye" and commissioned by George Borgfeldt from Germany,circa 1927; the doll was listed in the Borgfeldt catalog of 1927. Value Points: rare doll with very fine quality of bisque and sculpting,antique costume including blue velvet coat with grey lambswool collar and matching cap.
