Each is of padded fabric over wire armature with well-defined painted details of face and fingers, white mohair wig in traditional manner as depicted in period paintings of the couple; she is wearing (frail) mauve silk gown with lace overlay skirt and black embroidered bodice, two silk petticoats, fitted Charlotte cap, mauve silk slipper; and he is wearing blue and pale yellow military uniform, holding sword and tricorn hat, and with knee high black leather boots. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Dorothy Wendell Heizer (sewn on cloth labels). Comments: American artist, Dorothy Heizer, from her series of important American historical figures. Value Points: most artistic painting of features and superb costume detail.
