20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head, painted facial features depicting older child, painted blue eyes in well-defined sockets, white eye dots, black and red upper eyeliner, accented nostrils, closed mouth with very full outlined lips, brunette mohair waist-length wig, dimpled chin, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique costume, undergarments, bonnet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 128 7. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1912, the art character model was made with glass eyes and this, the earlier premiere model, with rare eyes. Value Points: few examples are known to exist of the early art character, with very fine quality of expression, bisque, and painting, original body and body finish.
