25" (64 cm.) Bisque socket head with rounded very plump face, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded lips, center line between the lips, pierced ears, wheat-blonde human hair over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball jointed body with pewter hands, lovely antique silk dress, undergarments, stockings, black leather shoes, and wide-brimmed velvet bonnet with scalloped lace edging. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: P 5 D. Comments: Petit et Dumoutier, circa 1880, the bebes by this firm were made for about ten years only, and are very rare to find, especially in this wonderful size. Value Points: rare bebe with beautiful bisque and painting, distinctive original body with original finish.
