13" (33 cm.) Bisque socket head depicting older man with pronounced nose, double chin and deeply defined jowls, incised laughter and age wrinkles, brown glass inset eyes, brush-stroked brows, painted lashes, closed mouth with two beaded teeth in otherwise toothless mouth, sculpted ears, blonde mohair wig, French composition and wooden fully jointed body. Condition: generally excellent, 1/2" original firing line behind left ear. Comments: maker unknown, circa 1890. Value Points: very rare doll with outstanding detail of sculpting, fine antique gentleman's formal wear ensemble of couturier quality, including top hat.
