Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom and shoulder blades, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, brushstroked brows with feathered details, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with well-defined tongue tip, outlined lips, defined dimples at philtrum and chin, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, slender kid bebe body with scalloped collarette, kid-over-metal hinged upper legs, wooden legs, kid-over-metal upper arms, bisque forearms, well-sculpted fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Bru Jne 8 (head and shoulders) (original Bru paper label on torso). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1885. Value Points: exceptionally fine sculpting, perfectly exemplifying the golden age of Bru during which it was made, including tiny sculpted tongue tip, finest bisque, and painting, very sturdy original body, perfect hands, wearing fine antique ivory satin dress with Alencon lace, undergarments, stockings, shoes, and carrying elaborate bouquet and wax orange blossom coronet.
