Description
22" (56 cm.) x 11" x 11". A light wood box with paper lithographed cover opens to form into the floor and frame of a late-19th century dining room, with folding heavy stock walls having original patterned burgundy wallpaper and gilt paper edging and with two windows at the back wall with original burgundy satin draperies and lace linings. The room is furnished with dark wooden dining room table with six chairs, cupboard, dessert buffet, and jardiniere filled with flowers, the chairs with leather seats and all furnishings with gilt paper edging. There is a fireplace with burgundy satin trim and the room is accented with two large ormolu mirrors, ormolu mantel clock, pewter tea set and more. Three dollhouse dolls are included. Excellent condition. The folding box rooms were presented in Paris by Badeuille and his successor from the mid-1800s until 1897 of which this example is circa 1890s, and are very to find complete.
