Bisque socket head with deeply modeled features,deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes,dark eyeliner,lushly painted lashes,brush-stroked and feathered brows,accented eye corners,shaded nostrils,closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips,separately modeled pierced ears,dimpled chin,brunette hand-tied human hair wig over cork pate,French composition and wooden fully jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: E. 16 J. (incised and artist checkmarks) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body) 16 (pencil script inside wig). Comments: Emile Jumeau,1882,the size 16 of the E.J. model was made in that year only according to listings in Jumeau catalogs. Value Points: the extreme rarity of the doll is enhanced by finest quality of bisque and sculpting,original body and body finish,with rare original signed wig,and original (frail) couturier silk costume with outstanding detail of construction and trim,and original signed "E.J. 16" shoes.
