13" (33 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta head, short black sculpted hair waved from face, incised forehead and laughter lines, shaded stubble of beard, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, carved wrinkled dark brown leggings, brown shoes with buckles, wearing original costume of blue serge breeches and jacket with gold braid, red twill vest, flat head. Excellent, some paint wear on hands and shoes. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, especially fine detail of facial modeling with artistic painting.
