Description
20" (51 cm.) h. 14"w. Presented on an ebony wooden base under glass dome is an elaborate arrangement of bronze-green velvet with surmounted arch which is lavishly decorated with white bisque flowers in various styles, and which is centered by a tufted rose fabric cushion upon which is resting the original wax orange blossom coronet; the arrangement is further decorated with two oval mirrors, tiny ormolu accents, and ivory satin bows. Excellent condition. French, circa 1880, the globe de mariee was a traditional symbolic remembrance of a young couple's wedding, this example being especially unusual in its detail.
