Honey-toned wax shoulderhead with pale blue glass inset eyes, painted brows, lashes, closed mouth with painted row of tiny teeth, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig in original braided coiffure, original muslin shapely lady body with paper mache lower arms and legs, painted fancy blue heeled boots with white buttons. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, their fashion lady doll known as "Staatdamen" in reference to high society status, circa 1875, created simultaneously to the golden era of the French bisque poupee. Value Points: rare to find doll with original fancy shoes, coiffure, and wonderfully detailed gown with matching bonnet, fingerless gloves, undergarments.
