Description
12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head with very plump modeling of cheeks and chin, tiny blue glass sleep eyes, fringed upper lashes, one-stroke angled brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accent line between lips, blonde mohair wig with coiled side braids, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, factory costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1418 3. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1912, from their 1400 character series, only one or two other examples of this rare model are known to exist today. Value Points: the rarity of the doll is rivaled by its wonderfully-achieved character expression, finest bisque and painting, original wig, original body finish, early factory costume.
