9" (23 cm.) The paper mache head with attached paper cap and large side-glancing googly eyes is spring attached in "nodder" fashion to a paper mache torso resting on skinny legs, with painted costume and mounted on original wooden base. Generally excellent. Germany, circa 1895, depicted is The Chinaman from the Palmer Cox Brownies series.
