Bisque socket head of adult woman with very angular facial planes, oval face with shapely defined nose, chin and cheekbones, brown glass sleep eyes, mohair lashes, painted lower lashes, brush-stroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils of aquiline nose, closed mouth with center accent line, pierced ears, brunette human hair hand-tied wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed lady body with shapely bosom, waist, and elongated limbs, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1303 S&H 8 1/2 Germany (head) Heinrich Handwerck Germany (torso). Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1900, the glass-eyed variation of the rare model. Value Points: exceptional quality of sculpting especially planes of cheek and chin, very fine quality of bisque and painting, original body and body finish.
