19" (48 cm.) w. x 14"h. x 12"d. Constructed of finest woods, the slant-front desk with lower drawers and carved columnar front with claw feet is elaborately decorated on top, front and both sides in intricately designed inlays of flowers, garlands, and scrolls. The slant front hinges open to a further well-fitted interior with numerous niches and drawers and which is also richly decorated with inlay floral marquetry. Excellent condition. Early 1800s, the very fine workmanship and exotic woods indicates the original production as a maitrise model for fine cabinet maker.
