Description
14" (36 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead, blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body, gusset-jointing at hips, stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F. 3 G. Comments: Gaultier, circa 1885. Value Points: the poupee is presented as a fortune-teller (a bonne aventure) model, wearing her original embroidered brown velvet gown with jeweled details, brass bells, gold embossed cap, wand, and with a very full skirt formed from hundred of folded French-language fortunes.
