Polychromed terra cotta head of young lad with slender face, sculpted side-parted hair in casual wind-blown short curls, enamel eyes, mouth modeled as though open, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted blue stockings, green carved shoes with black buckles, wearing green silk leggings, silk striped shirt, lined green silk jacket with piping and buttons, scarf. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, rare model with distinctive hair and expression appearing as though a young scholar.
