Description
11" (28 cm.) Each with carved wooden head and carved and tinted facial features, the woman with painted black hair having unusual detail over ears and with comb-accented chignon at the back, cloth body with wooden hands, wearing blue cotton tunic and trousers, white shirt, black silk slippers, and with sash that connects to the red silk bunting at her back. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: from first period of dolls created by the Door of Hope Mission, circa 1910. Value Points: both with original costumes, the bunting holds a baby with all-cloth body and painted forelock tufts, wearing cotton baby dress, with matching embroidered silk collar and cap.
