Description
12" (30 cm.) Resting upon cast brass and metal sleigh runners with elaborate scroll designs is an elegantly-shaped sleigh with tin-metal appliqued side panels having embossed and painted designs depicting winged cherubs at play and garlands of flowers. The interior is upholstered with fine purple silk velvet. Excellent condition. French, circa 1885, a series of objects d'art were created at this time, including vitrines and cabinets exhibiting this same decorative technique; the sleigh design is, by far, the rarest of those models.
