Description
13" (33 cm.) Solid domed bisque head with flanged neck, brown painted hair, intaglio blue side-glancing eyes, white eye dots, tiny nose with accent dots, "O" shaped mouth with hole for whistle sound to emanate, cloth torso containing squeeze bellows for creating whistle sound, composition hands, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. whistle works although a bit faintly. Marks: Germany 8774 Heubach (square). Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa 1915. Value Points: wonderful expression, the doll was marketed in America as "Whistling Jim".
