12" (30 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom and shoulderblades, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows with feathered details, accented nostrils and eye corners, parted lips with interior drilled hole for bottle nipple, very full cheeks, metal turn-screw at back of head designed to create sucking action with rubber ball inside head, as though sucking on baby bottle, kid bebe body with scalloped collarette, gusset-jointing at hips and knees, bisque forearms. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 2 (head and shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, an early period model of the firm's popular Bebe Teteur, circa 1884. Value Points: superb original condition, with intact nursing mechanism, near mint body with perfect hands, very fine bisque and painting.
