18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, almond-shaped blue glass enamel eyes, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eye shadow, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, all-wooden poupee body with very shapely torso, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, wearing lovely antique white batiste gown with lace panels and ruffles, undergarments, leather shoes and bonnet with blue ribbons. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Simonne Rue de Rivoli...(torso stamp). Comments: circa 1870, Pierre-François Jumeau, the poupee was sold by the prestige doll shop, Maison Simonne. Value Points: very beautiful expression with delicate blushing on gentle features, rare wooden body in superb condition, beautiful antique costume, prestige boutique label.
