18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head with characteristic elongated bulbous throat on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, grey glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, wooden with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hip and knees, swivel waist, original metal hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: attributed to Adelaide Huret, circa 1870, the beautiful glass-eyed variation of her sought-after art poupee. Value Points: lovely and rare wooden-bodied poupee, wearing fine antique royal blue patterned silk costume with black silk fringe, undergarments, stockings, leather boots, bonnet, earrings.
