Description
12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head with flattened solid dome, brown glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, pierced ears, brunette human hair, Sonneberg composition and wooden body with straight wrists, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 3. Comments: Sonneberg, circa 1882, the doll closely resembles the early French bebe whose market it sought to capture. Value Points: pretty wide-eyed child has lovely bisque, original body and body finish.
