Description
24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head with very round plump face, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, delicately-painted lashes and brows, rose-blushed eyeshadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with pale outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, Steiner composition fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent, retouch on bottom left ear lobe. Marks: Sie A 5 (incised on head) J. Steiner Bte SGDG J. Bourgoin St. (head, red ink script). Comments: Jules Steiner, series C model, circa 1882. Value Points: most desirable very pale bisque on the early model Steiner bebe which beautifully contrasts the brilliant eyes and dark eye decoration, original body and body finish. Included is curly mohair pup with amber glass eyes.
