All wooden doll with solid-domed socket head, dowel-jointed neck allowing head to tilt forward and back, well-defined facial features, inset eye sockets with painted brown eyes, brown eyeliner, tinted brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with slightly-upturned lip corners, impressed dimples in cheeks and chin, fleeced wig, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees, wearing wonderful brown silk aristocratic costume with applique and embroidery comprising jacket, vest, pants and leggings, elaborate cap and carrying fancy walking stick. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Continental, early 1800s. Value Points: rarity factors include larger size of dowel-jointed doll and rare neck dowel all enhancing the wonderful expression and artistry.
